Why this works

A very high-protein, low-carb salad bowl that is relatively filling but likely high in sodium due to the ham.

High-quality protein. Ham, cottage cheese and Greek yoghurt together provide a substantial protein hit to support satiety and muscle maintenance.

Calcium source. Cottage cheese and Greek yoghurt contribute calcium, which supports bone health.

Sodium concern. Ham is typically salty, so this dish may be high in sodium and less suitable for a low-salt diet.

Method

  1. Slice the ham into bite-sized strips and divide between two bowls.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the Greek yoghurt and mustard until smooth.
  3. Add the natural cottage cheese to the dressing and stir gently so it stays a little textured.
  4. Spoon the cottage cheese mixture over the ham.
  5. Serve immediately, or chill for 10 minutes if you prefer it colder.
