Why this works

A filling, high-protein toasted wrap with substantial saturated fat and salt from the cheese, ham and butter.

Protein-rich. Mozzarella and cooked ham provide a good amount of protein, which supports satiety and muscle maintenance.

High saturated fat. The mozzarella and butter contribute a relatively high saturated fat content, so this is best eaten occasionally rather than as an everyday meal.

Salt content. Cooked ham and chilli sauce can push sodium up, which may be a consideration for anyone watching blood pressure or overall salt intake.

Method

  1. Lay one tortilla flat and spread a little hot chilli sauce over one half.
  2. Top with sliced cooked ham and torn mozzarella, then fold the tortilla over to enclose the filling.
  3. Melt the unsalted butter in a frying pan over a medium heat.
  4. Cook the folded tortilla for 2–3 minutes on each side until golden and crisp, and the mozzarella has melted.
  5. Slice and serve immediately while hot and gooey.
