Why this works

A moderately filling, fibre-rich pudding with good fats from chia, but it contains added sugar from honey and natural sugars from banana and milk.

High fibre from chia and banana. Chia seeds and banana contribute a useful amount of fibre, which supports digestive health and steadier blood sugar levels.

Omega-3 fats from chia. Chia seeds provide alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), a plant omega-3 that supports heart health.

Calcium and B vitamins from milk. Milk adds calcium and some protein, helping support bone health and overall satiety.

Method

  1. Stir the chia seeds, milk and honey together in a bowl.
  2. Add the vanilla extract if using, then leave to thicken for at least 10 minutes.
  3. Slice the nana and layer it through the pudding.
  4. Serve chilled.
