Why this works

A light, carbohydrate-focused snack with modest fibre and very little fat or sodium, but only a small amount of protein.

Potassium from bananas. Bananas provide potassium, which supports normal muscle and nerve function.

Wholegrain oats. Oats contribute soluble fibre, particularly beta-glucan, which can help support healthy cholesterol levels.

Added sugar is low overall. With just 1 tablespoon divided across 12 bites, sugar is relatively modest per serving.

Method

  1. Mash the bananas in a bowl until smooth.
  2. Stir in the oats, Quaker and sugar until you have a sticky mixture.
  3. Chill the mixture for 5 minutes if it is very soft.
  4. Roll into small balls with damp hands.
  5. Refrigerate until firm and serve chilled.
