Why this works

A protein-rich, low-carbohydrate omelette, but fairly high in sodium from the ham and moderate in saturated fat from the eggs and ham.

High-quality protein. Eggs and ham provide around 29g protein per serving, supporting muscle maintenance and satiety.

B vitamins and choline. Eggs contribute vitamin B12, riboflavin and choline, which support energy metabolism and normal nerve function.

Salt content. Processed ham is the main source of sodium, so this dish may be less suitable for anyone needing to limit salt intake.

Method

  1. Whisk the eggs in a bowl until combined.
  2. Heat a frying pan and pour in the eggs to make an omelette base.
  3. When the omelette is nearly set, scatter over the ham and spoon on the yoghurt.
  4. Fold the omelette in half and cook for 1 minute more before serving.
