Why this works

A protein-rich, relatively low-carbohydrate dish with moderate fat and a notable sodium load from added salt.

High-quality protein. Minced beef and Greek yoghurt provide substantial protein for muscle repair and satiety.

Vitamin C and antioxidants. Red cabbage adds vitamin C and protective plant compounds, while herbs contribute additional antioxidants.

Sodium concern. The added teaspoon of salt pushes sodium higher, which may be a consideration for blood pressure-sensitive diets.

Method

  1. Brown the minced beef in a hot frying pan for 6–8 minutes, seasoning with salt and black pepper.
  2. Add finely shredded red cabbage and cook for another 6 minutes until softened but still a little crisp.
  3. Stir in the herbs and remove from the heat.
  4. Spoon the beef mixture into lettuce leaves.
  5. Mix the Greek yoghurt with a little black pepper and drizzle over the top before serving.
