Why this works

A creamy, protein-rich dip that is relatively modest in calories, with some saturated fat and sodium depending on how much salt is added.

Good protein content. Cottage cheese and Greek yoghurt provide a useful protein boost, which can help with satiety and muscle maintenance.

Source of vitamin C and antioxidants. Orange pepper contributes vitamin C and carotenoids, supporting immune function and adding colour without many calories.

Sodium can rise with seasoning. Salt, cottage cheese and the flavoured soft cheese all contribute sodium, so the final level depends on how much extra salt is added.

Method

  1. Put the cottage cheese, Greek yoghurt and Philadelphia Garlic & Herbs into a bowl.
  2. Stir until mostly smooth, leaving a little texture if you like.
  3. Fold in the finely chopped orange pepper and season with black pepper.
  4. Chill for 10 minutes if time allows, then serve as a dip or spread.
