Why this works
Creamy, savoury dip that is relatively high in protein but also fairly high in saturated fat and sodium due to the bacon and soft cheese.
Protein-rich base. Cottage cheese, Greek yoghurt and Philadelphia contribute a useful amount of protein for a dip, helping with satiety.
Vitamin C from pepper. The orange pepper adds vitamin C and a small amount of fibre, which supports immunity and iron absorption.
Sodium and saturated fat concern. Bacon and processed soft cheese raise the salt and saturated fat content, so portions are best kept modest.
Method
- Cook the bacon in a dry frying pan over a medium heat until crisp, then set aside to cool slightly and chop finely.
- Finely dice the orange pepper, removing the seeds and any white pith.
- In a bowl, combine the Philadelphia Garlic & Herbs, natural cottage cheese and Greek natural yoghurt until smooth and creamy.
- Stir in the chopped bacon, diced orange pepper and black pepper.
- Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed, then chill for 10 minutes before serving for the best flavour.
