Why this works

A sweet, moderately portioned dessert with some protein from yoghurt, but relatively high in sugar from the jam and vanilla yoghurt.

Calcium source. Yoghurt provides calcium, which supports bone and dental health.

Protein contribution. Greek yoghurt boosts the protein content compared with a typical dessert, helping with satiety.

High sugar content. The jam and vanilla yoghurt contribute most of the sugars, so this is best enjoyed as an occasional treat.

Method

  1. Stir the Greek yoghurt and vanilla yoghurt together until smooth and creamy.
  2. Divide half the mixture between 4 serving glasses or jars.
  3. Spoon a little jam over each portion and swirl gently with a teaspoon.
  4. Top with the remaining yoghurt mixture, then finish with another small swirl of jam.
  5. Chill for at least 10 minutes before serving, or serve immediately if you prefer a softer, fresher texture.
