Why this works

High in protein and relatively low in carbohydrate, but also fairly high in saturated fat and sodium depending on added salt and cheese choice.

Protein-rich. Beef and cheese provide a substantial amount of protein per serving, supporting muscle repair and satiety.

Saturated fat. Cheese and minced beef contribute notable saturated fat, so this dish is best enjoyed in moderation if watching cholesterol intake.

Sodium concern. Added salt plus cheese can push sodium up, which may be a consideration for blood pressure management.

Method

  1. Heat a dry frying pan over medium-high heat and cook the mince beef until browned, breaking it up as it cooks.
  2. Drain any excess fat if needed, then stir in mustard and a little yellow mustard for extra tang.
  3. Season with salt and black pepper, then lay the cheese slices over the top and cover the pan for 2 minutes until melted.
  4. Serve immediately while hot.
  5. If desired, spoon into lettuce cups or over a salad from the ingredients list.
