Why this works

A simple, protein-containing breakfast pot that is relatively low in fat but fairly high in sugar from the jam.

Calcium and protein. Greek yoghurt provides calcium for bone health plus a useful amount of protein to support satiety.

Added sugar content. Most of the sugar comes from the jam, so this is not a low-sugar option.

Low fibre. This dish contains very little fibre unless fruit or seeds are added.

Method

  1. Stir the Greek yoghurt with the milk in a bowl until smooth and spoonable.
  2. Spoon a layer of the yoghurt mixture into two serving glasses or jars.
  3. Add a layer of jam, then repeat with the remaining yoghurt and jam.
  4. Finish with a final swirl of jam on top and chill for 5 minutes before serving, if desired.
