Why this works
A sweet, energy-dense cake with moderate fat and sugar, best enjoyed as an occasional treat rather than an everyday staple.
Bananas provide potassium. Bananas contribute potassium, which supports normal muscle and nerve function, alongside some vitamin B6.
High in added sugars. Sugar and the cappuccino sachets make this a relatively high-sugar bake, which may not suit frequent consumption.
Contains significant saturated fat. Butter and margarine raise the saturated fat content, so portions should be kept modest if watching heart health.
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (Fan 160°C, 356°F, Gas Mark 4) and grease a loaf tin with butter or margarine.
- Mash the bananas until smooth.
- Cream the butter or margarine with the sugar, then beat in the bananas.
- Fold in the flour and the Nescafé Cappuccino until just combined.
- Spoon into the tin and bake for 35-40 minutes until a skewer comes out clean.
- Cool in the tin for 10 minutes before turning out.
