Why this works
A relatively light, protein-containing dessert or snack, but with modest sugar and very little fibre.
Protein from dairy. The cottage cheese boosts protein content, which may support satiety and muscle repair.
Calcium source. Both yoghurt and cottage cheese contribute calcium for bone health.
Added sugar concern. Vanilla yoghurt typically contains more sugar than plain yoghurt, so this dish is not especially low sugar.
Method
- Spoon the natural cottage cheese into the base of two glasses.
- Top with the vanilla yoghurt and smooth gently.
- Layer more yoghurt if desired for a striped effect.
- Chill for 10 minutes before serving, or eat immediately.
