Why this works
A light, low-sugar wrap-based snack with moderate sodium and modest energy, but it is not especially high in protein or fibre.
Black tea polyphenols. Black tea provides small amounts of antioxidants, though the infusion contributes virtually no calories or macronutrients.
Lightly salted tortilla sodium. Most of the sodium comes from the tortilla, so this is something to watch if you are aiming to keep salt intake low.
Melo Omega 3 spread. The spread adds some unsaturated fat, but in this portion the total amount is relatively small.
Method
- Brew the black tea with the still water and set aside to steep for 3–4 minutes.
- Warm the lightly salted tortilla in a dry frying pan over a medium heat for 20–30 seconds on each side until pliable.
- Spread the Melo Omega 3 evenly over the warm tortilla.
- Roll the tortilla up tightly into a breakfast wrap, slice in half if you like, and serve immediately with the black tea.
