Why this works

A protein-rich, very low-carbohydrate fritter with moderate energy and a relatively high saturated fat content from cheese and butter.

High-quality protein. Eggs and mozzarella provide complete protein, supporting muscle maintenance and satiety.

Calcium source. Mozzarella contributes calcium, which is important for bone health and muscle function.

Saturated fat consideration. Butter and cheese push the saturated fat content up, so portion size matters if you are watching heart health.

Method

  1. Beat the eggs in a bowl until well combined.
  2. Stir in the shredded mozzarella.
  3. Melt the butter in a frying pan over a medium heat.
  4. Spoon in small mounds of the egg mixture and flatten slightly.
  5. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden and cooked through.
  6. Serve hot from the pan.
