Why this works

A protein-rich, fairly low-carbohydrate dish that is moderately high in fat and sodium, mainly from the eggs and bacon.

High-quality protein. Eggs and Greek yoghurt provide complete protein to support satiety and muscle maintenance.

Micronutrients from eggs. Eggs contribute vitamin B12, selenium and choline, which are important for energy metabolism and brain health.

Higher sodium and saturated fat. Bacon increases sodium and saturated fat, so this dish is best enjoyed occasionally or balanced with lower-salt meals.

Method

  1. Hard-boil the eggs, cool them under cold water and peel them.
  2. Fry the bacon until crisp, then chop into small pieces.
  3. Roughly chop the eggs and place in a bowl with the coleslaw and Greek natural yoghurt.
  4. Stir in the bacon and season with black pepper.
  5. Mix gently and chill for 5 minutes before serving.
