Why this works

A protein-rich, low-carb salad with beneficial omega-3 fats, but the smoked salmon and added salt can make it relatively high in sodium.

Omega-3 fats. Smoked salmon provides omega-3 fatty acids, which support heart and brain health.

High-quality protein. Eggs, salmon and yoghurt contribute complete protein, helping with satiety and muscle maintenance.

Sodium concern. Smoked salmon and added salt can push sodium up, so this dish may not suit a low-sodium diet if salt is added generously.

Method

  1. Boil the eggs for 9 to 10 minutes, then cool under cold water and peel them.
  2. Chop the eggs and flake the smoked salmon into a bowl.
  3. Stir the yoghurt with salt and black pepper to make a light dressing.
  4. Fold everything together gently so the salmon stays in pieces.
  5. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
