Chorizo and Cheese Wrap-Style Salad Bowl recipe
Smoky chorizo sausages, juicy tomatoes and crisp mixed salad are topped with melted cheese and a punchy dressing for a hearty salad bowl with all the flavours of a wrap, minus the wrap. A splash of hot sauce adds a lively kick and keeps it bold and satisfying.

Why this works
Energy-dense and savoury, with high saturated fat and salt from chorizo and cheese; best enjoyed occasionally rather than as an everyday meal.
High saturated fat. Chorizo and cheese contribute a substantial amount of saturated fat, which can be less heart-friendly if eaten often.
Salt content. Processed chorizo, cheese, dressing and hot sauce are likely to make this dish relatively high in sodium.
Micronutrients from salad and tomatoes. The salad leaves and tomatoes provide some vitamin C, folate and potassium, but the overall vegetable portion is modest.
Method
- Slice the chorizo sausages into bite-sized pieces.
- Place a dry frying pan over a medium heat and cook the chorizo for 4–5 minutes until browned and the oils are released.
- Divide the mixed salad between two bowls and add the tomatoes.
- Scatter the cheese over the warm chorizo so it softens slightly, then spoon everything over the salad.
- Drizzle with salad dressing and add hot sauce to taste.
- Toss lightly and serve straight away.
